Intern Spotlight: How Ellie Becker is Leveling Up VitaTek’s Marketing Game

In this VitaTalk episode, host Eli Rehmann sits down with Ellie Becker, VitaTek’s Social Media and Marketing Intern, to talk about her experience stepping into the world of healthcare marketing, her approach to creating engaging content, and why startup life has been a game-changer for her career development.
Jumping into Startup Life
Ellie joined VitaTek in May, diving headfirst into an environment where learning is constant and no two days look the same. With a background in healthcare management at the University of Minnesota, she was looking for a healthcare-specific marketing role, a challenge in a competitive internship market.
“When I found out I got the job, I was so excited I called everyone,” she recalls. The small-company setting has allowed her to learn across departments, from marketing strategy to getting a peek into engineering, and to work closely with leadership. “It’s like being a sponge,” Ellie says. “I’m soaking up everything.”
Tools That Streamline Success
One of Ellie’s biggest wins has been implementing Sendible to centralize and schedule content across multiple platforms. Instead of logging into each account separately, she can plan and queue posts months in advance, cross-post across channels, and recycle high-performing content.
This efficiency isn’t just about saving time, it’s about maximizing impact. “You can post the same video later with a different caption or timing and suddenly it performs really well,” she explains.
Knowing the Platform
Ellie tailors content to each channel. For TikTok, that means fun, attention-grabbing clips with a strong hook in the first few seconds. LinkedIn, on the other hand, leans more into business insights, strategy, and thought leadership, though she still finds ways to bring in the human side of the team.
Learning Beyond Marketing
Ellie’s internship isn’t limited to content creation. She’s taken on building client-facing business plans, a role that combines market research, financial projections, and design work. “It’s cool to be part of something bigger and see it go directly to the client,” she says. This mix of analytical and creative work has helped her develop a broad skill set that will serve her well beyond this role.
The Takeaway
Ellie’s story is a reminder that the right internship can do more than fill a résumé, it can shape a career. At VitaTek, she’s gained hands-on experience, creative freedom, and a deeper understanding of how marketing, business, and product development intersect in the healthcare industry.
